Rihanna slayed it in a shirt, shorts and a long jacket at the Black Girls Rock Awards held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey on Friday night. The singer looked stunning when she walked the red carpet. Her look was inspired by Carrie Bradshaw from the first “Sex and the City” movie.
Rihanna turned heads in white shorts on the red carpet paired with airy gingham button-down. Her entire look is from Miu Miu's Autumn/Winter 2016-17 collection. The white and blue checked long shirt featured long sleeves and showed a hint of her cleavage. She flaunted her toned pins in the shorts.
The “Diamonds” hitmaker opted for a camel and dark brown full-length fur coat by Miu Miu. The jacket featured long sleeves with dark brown trims. She pulled off the edgy look perfectly well at the award ceremony.
Known for her quirky accessories, she wore diamond earrings, stacks of fine diamond rings — all mostly oversize. RiRi also wore a thick gold necklace with a diamond cross pendant and a thick gold choker. She also showed off her gold and diamond anklets.
The 28-year-old kept it semi-casual and pinned chunks of her hair back with gold, floral barrettes. The “Work” singer glowed from head-to-toe with her collection of gold accessories. RiRi teamed up her look in a pair of black suede pointed-toe high heels embellished with pearls and small gold beads also from the label.
Her dark tresses were left loose over her shoulders in a side part. RiRi carried an off-white jewel-embellished fur clutch with a matching clip. RiRi’s flawless make-up consisted of smoky eyes with lots of black kohl lined eyes and cat-eye styled eyeliner. A slick of nude lipgloss completed her beauty look.
She also showed off her nude manicured nails as she held on to her bag. The Black Girls Rock Awards was hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross. It honored the achievements of extraordinary women of color. Rihanna was recognized with the Rock Star Award.
