‘Riverdale’
What will happen to Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) in “Riverdale” Season 2? The CW

“Riverdale” Season 2 may see Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) spending a lot of time in her bedroom now that Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) will be in the south side of town.

Just recently, Reinhart shared a photo of herself as Betty sitting on the character’s bed on the set. The production crew is also featured in the snap, and she joked about so many men invading Betty’s private space.

While speaking with Seventeen, Reinhart weighed in on the deleted scene from Season 2 that was recently released by The CW. In the scene, Alice Cooper (Madchen Amick) invited Jughead to move in with them instead of heading to the south side. According to the actress, the alternative ending was created in case they didn’t get a Season 2. But since they did, they felt the need to up the drama in the upcoming episodes.

The actress also shut down rumors that Kevin’s (Casey Cott) boyfriend, Joaquin (Rob Raco), is Betty and Polly’s (Tiera Skovbye) long-lost older brother. “I feel like I want to shut that theory down. Maybe there was a romance between Alice and FP, but Joaquin went on that bus to San Junipero and he’s just going, sadly for Kevin. But you know what? I think that was for the benefit of my sweet little Kevin,” she said.

Meanwhile, “Riverdale” executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa just dropped the official title for Season 2, episode 7. “Chapter Twenty: Tales from the Dark Side” was written by James De Wille. The EP said that the script for episode 7 is one of his favorites from the entire season. “Tale from the Dark Side” will center on Jughead, Betty and Josie (Ashleigh Murray).

In other news, the exec also teased the arrival of a new big bad in the upcoming episodes. Last week, Aguirre-Sacasa uploaded a photo of an angry-looking character named Sugarman. In the drawing, the big bad is looking sternly at Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines).

There are speculations that Sugarman will make Cheryl’s life a living hell, especially since Jason is no longer around to protect her.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
