‘Riverdale’
Will Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) relationship end due to Nick St. Clair in “Riverdale” Season 2? The CW

“Riverdale” Season 2 will reunite Veronica (Camila Mendes) with someone from her past.

According to TV Line, a new character named Nick St. Clair will appear in the upcoming episodes. He is someone Veronica met when she was in New York. Nick will try to win Veronica’s heart by being involved in her life. But since Veronica is already in a relationship with Archie (KJ Apa), Nick’s arrival could pose problems for the couple.

While at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, Apa confirmed that he will share some scenes with Veronica’s dad, Hiram (Mark Conseulos), in the upcoming installments. However, the lead actor also hinted that Archie and Hiram’s relationship will not be as difficult as the former’s relationship with Nick. The new character will be bringing out Veronica’s darker side, which is very true to the central theme for Season 2.

As of late, the role of Nick has not yet been cast. But he isn’t the only newcomer to appear in “Riverdale” Season 2. According to TV Guide, a female character named Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) will come face-to-face with Jughead (Cole Sprouse) in the south side of the town. Jughead and Toni will both be studying at Southside High, and they could develop feelings for each other. This could be a huge problem for Betty (Lili Reinhart) since she and Jughead are in a relationship.

“Jughead in Season 2 is placed in the middle of two worlds that are starting to collide and erupt. As the season progresses, it forces him to pick a side which is really tough for him because he’s a morally gray character,” Sprouse said.

“Riverdale” executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa added, “I think Toni is trouble getting Jughead into this gang. She might be trouble for ‘Bughead.’ We thought it would be really fun to have a bisexual character on the show, and it’s going to stir up trouble for a lot of people on this panel.”

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EST. The filming for the upcoming episodes began last month in Vancouver.
