Robert Downey Jr. announced on social media Wednesday that he and his wife, Susan, are expecting their second child, a baby girl, in November.

The “Iron Man” star shared the news of his wife’s pregnancy on Facebook and Twitter. The news was also reportedly confirmed by Downey’s representative.

"Um. I don't know if it's a 'man's world', but I'm certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl. November. rdj,” Downey wrote on his Facebook page.

The couple, who have been married for nearly nine years, welcomed their first child together, son Exton Elias Downey, in February 2012. After his son was born, Downey reportedly told Esquire about the kind of father he pictured himself to be.

“Do I want to be a hero to my son? No. I would like to be a very real human being. That's hard enough... Hero, to me, is not applicable to the human experience,” he said.

The 49-year-old star met Susan on the set of "Gothika," a 2003 film she produced, starring Downey, Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz. The two got married in 2005.

Downey, who was previously married to Deborah Falconer, has a 20-year old son, Indio Falconer Downey, with the actress.

In late June, Indio made headlines after being arrested for cocaine possession and is reportedly due in court on Aug. 29.

"Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it," Downey reportedly said of his son's legal trouble, referring to his own struggle with drugs and alcohol in the past. "There is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being."
