Millions of fans got the good news Tuesday that Ryan Gosling reportedly became a father when fiancée Eva Mendes gave birth to a baby girl Friday, but the real question is: What will they name her? The child’s vital stats and name were not given in Us Weekly’s article about the birth, but that didn’t stop people from wondering what she would be called.

Fans took to Twitter to speculate about the potential moniker. Many people pointed out that Gosling’s last name means “little goose” and that he should change his name to “Ryan Goose” since he is a father now. In fact, more people seemed to talk about his name than the baby's. Some of their comments and suggestions have been listed below:

If Mendes and Gosling chose an ordinary name, they would be probably in the minority among celebrities. Whether it’s for attention or just to be different, many of Hollywood’s A-listers have a penchant for giving their children offbeat names, Cracked.com wrote. Jason Lee famously named his son Pilot Inspektor. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin named their daughter Apple. Sylvester Stallone named his son Sage Moonblood. Angelina Jolie named her oldest son Maddox. King of Pop Michael Jackson named his third son Prince Michael II, but gave him the nickname Blanket. Actress Shannyn Sossamon named her baby Audio Science. Comedian Penn Jillette thought Moxie Crimefighter would be a good moniker and Jermaine Jackson named his son Jermajesty.

Kim Kardashian told British GQ it was just a rumor that she and husband Kanye West were going to name their daughter North, but after "Happy" singer Pharrell Williams and Vogue editor Anna Wintour said it would be "genius" if they chose it, they decided it worked.

News of Mendes’ apparent pregnancy broke in July after she was allegedly seven months along. The couple never confirmed they were expecting and have not verified if their child was born.

The last time she was confronted about it, Mendes denied she was pregnant during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in February. "It's so ridiculous," she said then. "It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out."
