Ryan Reynolds wants his character Deadpool to appear in “X-Force” films. The actor told Cinema Blend he does not want his character to remain confined to a solo film but would like to be a part of larger cinematic world.

“I’d love to see them make some mention, or even an X-Force film at some point. I think that would be great -- and I think they are expanding the universe. That’s the avenue the genre is taking in general. Marvel [Studios] perfected that, but I think Fox has larger plans.”

He confirmed Fox will be making more superhero films and would like to explore the comic book genre further. Just like Marvel, the studio has plans to expand but things are being kept under wraps, he said. Reynolds’ “Deadpool” features R-rated action and humor that breaks the fourth wall. His character is an antihero who is a mentally unstable mercenary. He gets superhuman abilities after he is subjected to a rogue experiment. He has a talkative nature and is often termed the “Merc with a mouth.” His abilities include accelerated healing powers and the ability to regenerate limbs. He also carries a device that allows him to teleport.

Reynolds previously played Deadpool in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and will be soon seen in a solo Deadpool film. However, it will be interesting to see him play the character as a part of ensemble cast. It is also speculated if an X-Force film is made, it may also feature Cable who is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor.

Tim Miller directed “Deadpool” from a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. It also stars Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Ed Skrein. The first trailer of the film was released at San Diego Comic-Con and has been leaked online. The film opens Feb. 12, 2016.
