South Africa's central bank should be left to do its job independently without any pressure, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan said on Monday.

What we are saying is how do we create conditions in South Africa for the central bank to do what it thinks is the right thing at the right time. Can we remove pressures ... and enable the central bank to do the right thing? Gordhan said at a business breakfast.
