Samsung is expected to take the wraps off the Galaxy S7 series on Feb. 21. This will be followed by a release on Mar. 11. In the meantime, a source from Netherlands has revealed the preorder and freebie details pertaining to the upcoming flagship.

According to Android World, Samsung will start taking the Galaxy S7 preorders between Feb. 21 and Mar. 10. Upon preordering during this period, buyers will apparently receive a Samsung Gear VR free of charge. The first set of orders will be shipped starting March 11.

The South Korean tech giant has not announced the official price yet. Nevertheless, past reports suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S7 would set the buyers back by 16.49 million dong (about $740), whereas the Galaxy S7 Edge will be priced at 19.9 million dong (about $890).

Design-wise, the Galaxy S7 is believed to be marginally smaller than the predecessor. This device has been reported to feature the same 5.1-inch display as the S6 but the back will apparently be tapered to provide better grip. Samsung has not made any radical change to the exterior design as it has used the same glass-and-metal design, Phone Arena reported.

Other reports suggested that the Galaxy S7 will be able to provide 48 hours of battery life and it will come housed with a microSD card slot for memory expansion. This battery cell apparently has the capability to charge from zero percent to eighty percent within 30 minutes of plugging it in.

A new 12-megapixel BRITECELL camera unit and IP certification for water proofing have also been tipped. Under the hood, Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 chipsets will power the handset, depending on the region of release. The recent benchmark visit pointed out that the Exynos chipset is reportedly 15 percent more powerful when compared to the Qualcomm silicon.
