Samsung's April Fools' Day prank talks about Galaxy S8. Reuters

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge started shipping only a couple of weeks back in the U.S. However, Samsung wants us to believe that, the company is about to reveal the next big release — "Galaxy S8."

The South Korean tech giant has shared a teaser of an upcoming device via its official Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. The teaser, uploaded yesterday, says "something big is coming tomorrow."

A GIF image is also part of the teaser showing the number “8” in blue hue, alongside there is a hashtag saying “#TheNextGalaxy.” To heighten the curiosity, the teaser also shows an emoji wearing a VR headset.

It is worth noting that the teaser image is very much similar to the uploaded promos of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, when they were about to debut.

On a normal day, going by the teaser, it is very easy to believe that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be unveiled sometime on Friday. But it is quite obvious that the company is trying very hard to dupe us on April Fools' Day.

Although, Samsung keeps releasing other Galaxy line up of devices ranging from entry-level to high-end devices all throughout the year, the next flagship can only be expected in the first quarter of 2017.
