Steven Colbert is captivated by Sarah Palin's on-going . . . vacation-esqu, none campaign, history mobile tour. On The Colbert Report, he poked fun at the former Alaska Governor for her take on American History.

When Palin visited the old North Church in Boston she stated to the press, He [Paul Revere] who warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms by ah ringing those bells and um makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that ah we were going to be secure; we were going to be free.

After the media pointed out that Palin's knowledge on American History, specifically Paul Revere, was lacking, Palin fed the media frenzy on Fox News with her response stating, You know what? I didn't mess up about Paul Revere.

Here's what Paul Revere did: he warned the Americans that the British are coming . . . and they were going to try and take our arms so we gotta make sure that we were protecting ourselves . . . and a part of his ride was to warn the British that we were already there. That 'hey you're not going to succeed, you're not going to take American arms, you are not going to beat our own well-armed persons individual private militia that we have.'

Colbert's comment to the clip was, I could not have said a random string of words better.

Various media news outlets, TV personalities, and politicians have all poked fun at Palin's seeming lack of U.S. political and historical knowledge since 2008 when it was announced that she was the Republican vice president candidate.

There is still speculation surrounding the possibility that Palin could still run for political office again, and this time for the presidential spot in 2012.

The Huffington Post wrote that 'polls show that Tuesday finds that nearly two-thirds of Americans definitely would not vote for Sarah Palin for president of the United States.'
