A “Pretty Little Liars” spinoff is in the works, with two of the original stars returning to the Freeform series. While fans are excited about the new show, Sasha Pieterse revealed some details about Emison’s relationship status now that she will be on “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” without her significant other.

During an interview with Hollywood Life, Pieterse, who is set to reprise her role as Alison DiLaurentis in the spinoff, revealed what is going on in her character’s relationship with Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell).

“I know a lot of the fans are wondering about Emison, and Emison is good. We’re great. The babies are good. That stays the same,” she said.

At the end of the series, Alison and Emily were living together and raising their twin daughters Lily and Grace. The two also worked together at Rosewood High, where a new generation of Liars seemed to be forming.

With her fictional relationship on good terms, Pieterse also confessed that she was thrilled about the new show, which will also star her other “PLL” co-star Janel Parrish, who will reprise her role as Mona Vanderwaal. “I’m so excited to start,” the star told the HL.

“I feel like in the beginning of PLL I never know what’s happening, so Marlene [King] has kept a lot from Janel and I, but I have read the pilot. I love it, and it’s super exciting.”

While King has not shared all the details with the stars, Pieterse should understand the importance of keeping certain things under wraps. The star previously told E! News that she has known about the spinoff series for a while. “I’ve known that we were gonna do this for about a year,” she revealed.

Pieterse stated that the new show will not be a reflection of her character’s roots in Rosewood. “Sara Shepard who wrote PLL also wrote this book series. It has nothing to do with PLL, they’re just kind of putting my character into it,” she explained. “It’s still a murder mystery and it’s a really interesting plotline. I don’t think I can say anything yet!”

“Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” will take place in the new town of Beacon Heights. The series, which is currently in the pilot process, promises plenty of drama and suspense in the perfect little town.

“Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi,” the description reads.

Although the spinoff will have nothing to do with “Pretty Little Liars,” Pieterse and Parrish’s reprisal of their roles will make for an interesting storyline. Throughout the course of the Freeform series, Alison and Mona have not been on good terms.

Even though they would work together at times due to their mutual friends, Alison had ways of getting under Mona’s skin by making her reflect on her days as a nerd and by calling her by her cruel nickname “Loser Mona.” Their relationship on the new series will be one that will surely gather plenty of attention.

Although fans will have to wait to see if Freeform orders “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” to series, they can catch Pieterse competing on “Dancing With the Stars” Season 25 on Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
