Trouble could be looming in “Scandal” Season 7!

Just recently, TV Line entertainment writer Michael Ausiello revealed that there is at least one character in a television series that will be killed off soon. Ausiello listed down nine different shows and said that the mystery character is in one of the said shows: “Scorpion,” “Supergirl,” “The Blacklist,” “Scandal,” “The Exorcist,” “Blindspot,” “Designated Survivor,” “NCIS” and “Elementary.”

Despite not providing any other details, it is highly possible that the character that would be killed off is in ABC’s “Scandal.” In May, the network announced that the Kerry Washington-starrer will be ending after Season 7. It therefore makes the most sense to kill someone from a show that is bound to say goodbye after seven seasons.

Ausiello also confirmed that the character death will take place in the premiere episode of the show. Following the death of the unknown character, the series will release a series of flashbacks that will span two months prior to the demise. “Scandal” has also featured a series of flashbacks during its first six seasons. Additionally, every episode will reveal details about how and why the character had to be killed off, as well as who was responsible for doing so.

The other eight shows that made up Ausiello’s list are not yet bound for a cancellation, so it doesn’t make much sense for one of the shows’ most popular characters to die anytime soon.

Meanwhile, “Scandal” executive producer Shonda Rhimes told The Hollywood Reporter that they are expected to end the series with a bang. “So, next year we are going all out. Leaving nothing on the table. Creating this world in celebration. We are going to handle the end the way we like to handle the important things in our ‘Scandal’ family: all together, white hats on, Gladiators running full speed over a cliff,” she said.

Prior to the cancellation announcement, Rhimes also told the same publication in 2014 that “Scandal” won’t be like “Grey’s Anatomy” – a show that could go on and on for years. “I’ve already decided when ‘Scandal’ is ending. I think there’s only so much ‘Scandal’ you can satisfactorily,” she said.

“Scandal” Season 7 will premiere on ABC in the fall.
