Scream
The Brandon James killer is ready to strike again in Season 2, episode 9 of “Scream.” MTV

Is Brandon James’ body going to finally surface on “Scream”? That’s the new theory based off the synopsis for episode 9, titled “The Orphanage.”

Last week’s installment of “Scream” left off with Audrey’s (Bex Taylor-Klaus) dark secret getting leaked. Audrey finally got the courage to confess to Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) that she was the one that brought Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) to Lakewood, but Zoe ( Kiana Ledé ) beat her to the punch. The episode ended with Emma looking on in horror at the girl who she trusted with everything.

Although things can’t be looking good for Audrey, the secret just might bring the two closer together. The episode description for the MTV series teases that the two teens will discover “why the killer is targeting them.” Could it have something to do with Ms. Lang (Austin Highsmith)?

The psychology teacher has been acting shady all season, secretly recording conversations with her students and keeping files on them. The promo video for episode 9 reveals that the reason for Ms. Lang’s interest in the Lakewood Six is because she knew Piper. It appears as if the two went to school together when they were younger. Were they friends? Could Ms. Lang be seeking revenge? Or is there some other twist involved? The title for episode 9 might hold some clues.

Each episode of Season 2 is named after a scary movie. “The Orphanage” is a 2007 Spanish horror film about a woman named Laura who returns to the orphanage she grew up in as a child. The orphanage has since closed down, and Laura moves in with her husband and adopted son, Simon. Laura’s plans are to turn the building into a school for disabled children, however, a series of events prevent her from moving forward with her dream. Simon goes missing one night, and Laura suspects the social worker, Benigna, of kidnapping him. The story is much darker than that though. Laura later discovers that Benigna worked at the orphanage, and her son, Tomás, was also there. Tomás suffered from a deformity and used a mask to cover his face. One-day children stole Tomás mask, resulting in him hiding in a cave by the sea out of embarrassment. Tomás accidentally drowned, and Benigna killed the children at the orphanage out of revenge.

But the real juicy tidbit about this week’s episode is that a “long missing body of evidence” will “finally” be located. Are we talking a real “body” here? “Scream” fans can’t forget that Brandon James’ body was never recovered from the lake after the police shot him all those years ago. Could it finally resurface this week?
