Selena Gomez will open up about her recent kidney transplant for the first time ever in an upcoming episode of “Today.”

In the sneak peek released via the show’s official Twitter account, Gomez is sitting beside her best friend, Francia Raisa, who offered to donate her kidney so she could save Gomez’s life. In the clip, Gomez reveals that it was Raisa who volunteered to help her out because she did not want to ask anyone for help.

Last month, Gomez revealed that she underwent kidney transplant due to her Lupus. On her Instagram account, the “Wolves” singer shared a photo of herself post-surgery and explained to fans why she was absent from social media for quite some time.

In her caption, Gomez also thanked Raisa for everything she has done for her. “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me,” she wrote. In her interview with “Today’s” Savannah Guthrie, Gomez acknowledged the fact that Raise saved her life. “Because she did. That’s it,” she said.

Weeks after her surgery, Gomez reportedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. According to E! News, Bieber found out that Gomez will undergo a major operation last summer and freaked out. He reached out to her and they stayed in touch with each other. Last week, they finally reunited during a group get-together at her house in Los Angeles.

At present, Gomez is already dating The Weeknd, and out of respect for him, she doesn’t want to spend so much time with the “Baby” singer. “Justin has been in contact with Selena and they have a great, friendly relationship. She is trying not to overdo it with seeing him, as she doesn’t want to upset Abel,” the source told the publication.

The same source noted that The Weeknd has been understanding of the situation.

Another source said that Gomez and The Weeknd are “in love” with each other so there’s no reason to suspect that the former child star will get back together with Bieber. “She is very honest and open with him about Justin… They talk all the time,” the source said.
