Serena Williams won her second French Open earlier this month and celebrated by relaxing on the beaches of Miami over the weekend. The tennis champion defeated Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-4 to earn her 16th Grand Slam title. She last won the French Open in 2002.
"Eleven years," Williams said during the trophy ceremony, in French. "I think it's unbelievable. Now I have 16 Grand Slam titles. It's difficult for me to speak because I'm so excited."
She is currently world No. 1 for the sixth time in her career, making her the oldest female in the top spot since computer rankings began in 1975.
The 31-year-old took a break from tennis to head back home to Miami and play in the sun with some of her friends. Her toned body was on full display in a bright green-and-floral-print bikini.
Noticeably absent while Williams was on the beach was rumored boyfriend, French coach Patrick Mouratoglou. Back in September, Williams was spotted in Paris with Mouratoglou with their hands in each other's pockets and embracing as they walked down the streets. This sighting first sparked speculation that the two were an item. The pair have since been seen together, mainly in Paris, where Williams also has a second home.
The tennis beauty previously dated rapper Common.
Williams’ next stop is Wimbledon in London, which begins June 24.
