‘The Shallows’ Star Blake Lively Gets Thrown A ‘Classy’ Birthday Party And Baby Shower By Her Pals Taylor Swift, Amber Tamblyn

“The Shallows” star Blake Lively is one lucky girl. Her close friends Taylor Swift and Amber Tamblyn threw her a surprise birthday party and baby shower on Sunday, Aug. 28.

A source told Us Weekly that the actress, who is expecting her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds this November, was treated to a hearty meal at the Italian eatery Campagna in New York’s Bedford Post Inn. Richard Gere, who owns the hillside getaway, was even on site during Lively’s event.

“It was a very simple and classy brunch with friends catching up,” a second insider added.

The girls decorated the courtyard with white and green balloons, and the brunch started around 11 a.m. and continued at Lively’s home, which is located nearby. The source further said that Swift, who flew to Westchester County from Nashville, bonded with Lively for “several hours.”

The “Wildest Dreams” singer even shared a sweet photo of her and Lively as they doted on a koala on her Instagram account (@taylorswift). “HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAKE! You’re a wonderful friend, to humans and koalas alike,” Swift wrote. “I absolutely love you.”

Meanwhile, Lively’s husband recently spoke with E! News and shared some details about his “extraordinarily pregnant” wife. Reynolds revealed that they both love doing physical activities, such as hiking. But with Lively’s big belly, she has to take a backseat on sports.

“So there's not a lot of hiking in her immediate future - nor do I think it's going to happen the second she gives birth, either,” he said. “I'm told there's some recuperation that's needed.”

But despite these sacrifices the celebrity parents have to make during pregnancy, Reynolds said it’s worth it because having a baby is the best thing in the world. “There's nothing on earth more grounding than having a baby,” the actor gushed. “It’s the best thing that could ever happen to someone.”
