NFL cheerleaders are not usually known as being women in their fifties. Sharon Simmons is trying to change that.

The 55-year-old is looking to become a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Simmons is in great shape, and has wanted the job for over 30 years. Simmons was one of hundreds of woman who went to Dallas this past weekend for a shot of cheering on America's team professionally.

The story of Simmons went viral after it was revealed that she would be attempting to become a cheerleader. She admits the immediate attention was somewhat startling. She claims to have an unlisted number, but still received many calls the day her story was first told.

Simmons would become the oldest ever Cowboys cheerleader if she was to get the job. The grandmother from Carrollton, Texas, would be the oldest cheerleader in the league by 13 years. Laura Vikmanis is 43 years old, and a Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader.
