Global energy producer Royal Dutch Shell plc said on Thursday it purchased for cancellation of a million A shares at a price of 25.67 euros per share.

Shell said that it also purchased for the cancellation of 395,809 A shares at a price of 1721.50 pence per share. According to a statement released by the company, the remaining number of Shares of Royal Dutch Shell plc will be 3,740,804,191 following the cancellation of these shares.

Shell' revenue totaled $306.73 billion last year, making it the third-largest corporation in the world based on turnover for 2005 and its profits of $25 billion made it the world's second most profitable business in terms of gross profits after ExxonMobil.
