“X Factor” judge Simon Cowell and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman welcomed a baby boy on Valentine’s Day at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

According to reports, a representative for the 54-year-old A&R executive revealed the news that the boy weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces was named Eric.

Cowell also took Twitter to reveal the news, as he wrote: “Very happy to say Eric was born at 17.45pm. Healthy and handsome.”

He also wrote another tweet stating that he named his son Eric after Cowell’s father.

Another of Cowell’s tweets read: “Lauren in great shape. Thanks for all of your kind messages.”

Cowell reportedly rushed from London to New York, when he heard that Silverman was going to deliver the baby. He was by Silverman’s side at the hospital all the time.

A source reportedly said: "You couldn't take the smile of Simon's face.” “Ever since he walked in the hospital he was beaming from ear-to-ear,” the source added.

The source continued: "Lauren was so happy to see him when he walked in. It is the perfect Valentine's gift any couple could have."

Cowell and socialite Silverman announced their relationship in July 2013, after her husband Andrew Silverman filed for divorce.

Last year, Cowell avoided questions about his relationship with Silverman. But after it was revealed that Silverman was expecting a baby, Cowell reportedly called her “special,” adding that he felt good about fatherhood, something he hadn’t previously considered.

This is the first child for Cowell and the second for Lauren, who has an 8-year-old son, Adam, with Andrew.
