Mike Singletary, who was fired as the head coach of the Sam Francisco 49ers a few weeks ago, has joined the coaching staff of the Minnesota Vikings.

I will be a linebackers coach/assistant head coach, Singletary told The Waddle & Silvy Show.

The Hall of Fame linebacker joins Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier, with whom he played on the Chicago Bears 1985-1986 championship team.

Singletary’s tenure in San Francisco was disappointing, in which he compiled am 18-22 record. This year he was released with one game left to go in the regular season.

Before his term in San Francisco he served as linebacker coach for the Baltimore Ravens.

Frazier became the Vikings interim coach after Brad Childress was fired last November and was upgraded to full-time coach after the season.
