“So You Think You Can Dance” just crowned Ricky Ubeda as the Season 11 winner last night, but fans already want to know about next season. However, the reality competition has yet to be renewed by Fox for Season 12, and after last night, fans still aren’t sure that it will be. The show pulled in 4.1 million viewers, but many dance lovers wonder what that means in terms of renewal.

The ratings were higher than the episode before the finale and actually increased by 20 percent. It’s a sizable increase, but the ratings weren’t very different from the Season 10 finale which garnered 4.3 million viewers. “SYTYCD” Season 10 was considered the lowest rated finale in the history of the dance competition, but it seems that Season 11 has taken that title. Only the overnight numbers are currently available, so the show might not be the lowest rated finale. However, Season 11 still won’t be considered a huge ratings success.

Creator and judge Nigel Lythgoe also is unsure of renewal at this point. When asked if Fox had picked up “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 12, Lythgoe didn’t seem to have an answer. “You’re going to have to ask someone else that question,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

Before the Season 11 started, Lythgoe tweeted that the show was in need of a ratings boost.
