Film director Sofia Coppola,38, is expecting her second child with partner Thomas Mars.

Mars confirmed Coppola was pregnant during an interview backstage with Chicago's WRIT, People Magazine reported.

Coppola lives in Paris. Her film Somewhere, stars Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning. It is a comedy-drama set to be released in 2010.

Mars is member of the French alternative rock band Phoenix. The couple have 3-year old daughter Romy.
