As part of her fall wedding to “Magic Mike XXL” actor Joe Manganeillo in November, the “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara has created a fragrance, People reported. Named "Love," the scent will be launched in October and gives a nod to Vergara’s roots. The product will be sold on HSN and at Perfumania and perfumania.com.
“I’m getting married in November [to actor Joe Manganiello], and it’s a very important time in my life,” the 43-year-old actress and entrepreneur said during an interview with WWD, adding that she wanted to commemorate the milestone with a scent.
"Love" has an unusual Colombian coffee flower note. It has top notes of mandarin, green apple and orange blossom, a heart of Colombian coffee flower, magnolia petals and orris, and a drydown of amberwood, praline and vanilla.
For her new fragrance, Vergara has worked with perfumers Yves Cassar and Pascal Gaurin of International Flavors & Fragrances. "Love" will be available in two sizes of eau de parfum spray, and will retail at $32 and $55, respectively. The print ad campaign for the fragrance has been shot by Carter Smith. It will begin running in October fashion, beauty and lifestyle magazines.
Vergara’s first fragrance called Sofia Vergara was launched in 2014 on HSN. It had a number of Colombian flowers as notes. “I wanted them to be meaningful and real to me,” she said.
Vergara said the scent development process was easier for Love. “The first time I had to learn to understand the process, and we went back and forth a lot, because I wanted to make sure it was something I’d be proud to wear,” said the actress.
A multifaceted person, Vergara has her own brand that includes her fragrance license with Parlux, jewelry with Kay Jewelers, furniture with Rooms to Go and spokeswoman for Cover Girl and Head and Shoulders.
