Android Nougat
The release of Android Nougat also signals the arrival of new Nexus handsets. Google

Android 7.0 Nougat is now available for devices, including the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X; however, many other Android smartphones may have to wait a few weeks or even months before receiving the new software.

Sony is one of the first manufacturers to confirm its plans for releasing Android 7.0 onto its devices, though the company has not detailed when it will begin updates. Pundits expect the rollout may not begin until 2017.

New features on Android 7.0 Nougat include new emojis, notifications updates and the split-screen feature called Multi-Window, among many others.

Sony has confirmed the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the following devices:

Xperia Z3+
Xperia Z4 Tablet
Xperia Z5
Xperia Z5 Compact
Xperia Z5 Premium
Xperia X
Xperia XA
Xperia XA Ultra
Xperia X Performance

HTC has also confirmed Android 7.0 updates of its devices. In August, the manufacturer revealed the HTC 10, HTC One A9 and HTC One M9 will be among the first of its devices to receive the new software.
