Japanese electronic heavy-weight Sony, at the E3 conference, has announced the launch of a 3D Playstation-branded monitor later this year at a reasonable price.

Since price is the main factor for people to stay away from the 3D TVs, Sony hopes that a price tag of $499 on its new 24-inch monitor will attract more gamers.

The monitor will enable players to use two separate screens for split-screen game play and will come with a pair of 3D glasses and a copy of Sony’s new FPS (First-person shooter) game 'Resistance 3' which is set to be released in September.

The monitor is yet to receive a price tag for the company’s European customers, a report on the PlayStation Universe website said.
