Sony and Samsung Corp on Tuesday introduced new series of ultra-portable mini notebooks designed for casual computing, web surfing with eco-certified for mercury free LED backlit.

Sony’s new VAIO W series features a 1366 x 768, high resolution, LED backlit 10.1-inch ultra-wide display, a 160 GB hard drive built-in webcam and microphone, Bluetooth enables and offer three vibrant colors.

It also bundles software such as Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system pre-installed, Multimedia Streaming software.

Samsung unleashed the world’s claiming first eco-friendly and TCO certified laptop today as well. The new N120 netbook features a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, and a small 10.1-inch or 1024 x 600 LED backlit display with 2.1 channel sound system and 1.3 integrated webcam.

Its price starts $499 and $439.99 respectively.
