At a time when Sony is gearing up to release the Xperia Z5, the mini device Xperia Z5 Compact and the jumbo sibling Xperia Z5+, the first promotional image of the bigger variant has been leaked online.

According to Weibo, the Chinese social networking site, the official promo image of the "Sony Xperia 70+," which is said to be the “Sony Xperia Z5+,” has been uploaded online. It is worth reminding that, Sony was initially speculated to release two devices namely the "Xperia 60" and the "Xperia 70." As it turns out, the Xperia 60 and Xperia 70 are nothing but the Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5. The Xperia Z5+ is internally referred to as Xperia 70+, Xperia Blog reported.

Going by the promo image, Phone Arena said that the upcoming device does not look different from that of the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 and the upcoming Xperia Z4v. It is worth noting that, the Z4v is reportedly the first Quad HD smartphone from Sony, and is headed to Verizon Wireless in the U.S.

As far as the key Xperia Z5+ specifications are concerned, the handset will apparently flaunt a Quad HD screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels on an unspecified display size. Under the hood, the device will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

Moreover, the "Omni-Balance" design, synonymous to Sony handsets, will also be part of the Z5+. Speaking of color choices, the smartphone will apparently be offered in three hues, including Black, Gold and a new color called Chrome. The device will also feature a fingerprint scanner located on the right side.

Speaking of Xperia Z5+ release date, Sony is believed to introduce the Xperia Z5, Z5+ and the mini variant Z5 Compact on Sept. 2 at the IFA 2015 event.
