S&P 500 stock index futures briefly turned negative on Friday following second-quarter results of General Electric , a diversified manufacturer.

* S&P 500 futures were 0.70 points higher but were slightly below fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures shed 8 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures edged up 2.75 points.
