A Stanford University employee was arrested Sunday after allegedly stabbing a woman while on LSD.

James Shirvell, an assistant director of admissions at the institution, is accused of stabbing the unnamed victim multiple times. He is now facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and domestic violence, according to the Daily Mail. The latter charge suggests he had a relationship with or was related to the victim.

The 26-year-old is being held on a $1 million bond at San Francisco County jail. The victim's condition is unknown at this time.

Shirvell and the female were both experimenting with LSD and at a home in San Francisco over the weekend when the incident occurred, according to NBC Bay Area's Investigative Unit.

At Stanford University, Shirvell, an employee since 2016, was one of six admission officers handling admissions from Los Angeles, China, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. His name was removed from the admissions' office website after his arrest reports Stanford's student paper, The Daily.
