Mark Hamill has finally shaved his beard and was spotted after filming his scenes for “Star Wars: Episode 8.” The actor had previously said that a beard did not suit him, after he was made to grow it for the J.J. Abrams' movie.

Recent pictures of Hamill (Luke Skywalker) posted on MakingStarWars show the actor with a clean-shaven look after a long time. It is unclear if this will be the look of his character in the movie. The report speculated that the actor may have finished filming his scenes and could be on an extended break until filming resumes, giving him the opportunity to shave.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hamill said that he was “not really a beard person.” The actor said that a beard may look good on some people, but it may not suit him. The actor complained that every time he drank or ate something, he would get some of it on his beard. He did, however, say that it may be possible for him to get used to sporting a beard.

The actor has been sporting a beard for some time now for the movie, and according to a report by the Irish Examiner, Hamill was among a crew of 100 who went to Skellig Michael to start filming for “Star Wars: Episode 8.” The actor’s son reportedly accompanied him and was spotted checking into a hotel.

Filming of the movie was reportedly postponed due to bad weather, which made it difficult for boats to reach Skellig Michael. The boat operators reportedly described the weather as "one of the worst seasons."

Very little details about the movie have been made available by the producers so far. One of the confirmed cast members of the movie is Benicio Del Toro. In a recent interview with ETOnline, the actor debunked rumors about his character being the villain, quipping that those people may have read a different script.

Del Toro said that it is sometimes nice to keep people in the dark and preserve the mystery of the movie. “Star Wars: Episode 8,” directed by Rian Johnson, is slated to release on May 26, 2017.
