Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has wowed again this quarter, it revealed in an earnings report released today. Third quarter earnings rose to $624.6 million, a 68 percent increase over last year's earnings for the same period and 7 percent increase over the previous quarter, thanks to several Android-based bestsellers. The second-largest OEM for the Android mobile platform attributed the increase in sales to strong brand recognition, leading product portfolio and expanded distribution channels. Possibly the most impressive figure comes in the form of the 93 percent increase in handset shipments HTC enjoyed this quarter, reaching a total of 13.2 million units distributed.
