Actor Steve Guttenberg is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Guttenberg is being honored for his work in the beloved Police Academy movie series. Guttenberg played main character Carey Mahoney and was praised for his entertaining acting.

A legend in his own right, and the butt of many a joke, the common consensus is that a Police Academy flick with Guttenberg is one of the best, wrote D.J. Nock of DVD Times.

Fittingly, his star - the 2,455th one on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - will be placed in front of the Police Activities League, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Guttenberg is one of the most enduring and prolific actors in Hollywood. Aside from the Police Academy series, he also starred in Three Men and a Baby, Cocoon and Short Circuit. Most recently, he starred in Turkish film Ay Lav Yu.

On TV, he participated recently in Dancing with the Stars, appeared in Veronica Mars and starred in Billy in 1979.
