“Stitchers” will no longer return to Freeform for another season.

According to TV Line, the network decided to axe the Emma Ishta-starrer on Friday. “Stitchers” centers on the life of Kirsten (Ishta) and Cameron (Kyle Harris). The two worked together in the Stitchers department, and Kirsten typically stitches into the brains of people who have already died to know how they were killed.

“Stitchers” Season 1 premiered in 2015. Last month, Season 3 wrapped up with a major cliffhanger when Kirsten pretended to have lost all of her memories following a recent stitch. But she was later on seen talking to a shadowy figure and said, “I will never forgive you for what you’re making me do to Cameron.”

Following the Season 3 finale, Harris spoke with TV Line to share his thoughts about Season 4. “It would be cool to see how the program has to protect Kirsten now that she’s essentially a weapon. If she fell into the wrong hands, there would be consequences. We could play celebrity for a moment, since the team is like a group of superheroes in a way. But that could easily take a turn – I could see people getting angry that we have access to all these private memories,” he said.

As of late, Freeform has not yet revealed that real reason behind the show’s cancelation. But Variety reported that “Stitchers” was one of the lower-rated series of the network. In Season 3, the show averaged a 0.13 rating or approximately 365,000 viewers per episode. In fact, the show’s Season 2 renewal came several months after Season 1 wrapped up because even at the beginning, the ratings for “Stitchers” haven’t been as high as Freeform’s other shows.

Last month, the network decided to renew Bella Thorne’s series, “Famous in Love,” for a second season. Other shows that are still on the network include “The Fosters,” “Shadowhunters,” “Young & Hungry” and more.

Ishta posted a touching tribute to her “Stitchers” family following the cancelation via her Twitter account. “Stitchers” also starred Ritesh Rajan as Linus, Allison Scagliotti as Camille, Salli Richardson as Maggie, Damon Dayoub as Detective Quincy Fisher and more.
