Stocks fall at open after corporate results
Stocks fell at the opening on Tuesday after corporate results disappointed on revenues and housing data underscored worries the economic recovery was losing momentum.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 137.06 points, or 1.35 percent, at 10,017.37. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 12.69 points, or 1.18 percent, at 1,058.56. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was off 31.63 points, or 1.44 percent, at 2,166.60.
