“Stranger Things” star Charlie Heaton was detained at the LAX on Saturday for alleged cocaine possession.

According to People, the actor was denied entry into the country and was sent back to the United Kingdom on the same day. A rep for the actor has not yet commented on the incident, but it was revealed that he was just detained and not arrested.

Heaton flew to the country from the UK to supposedly attend the A-list premiere party of the hit Netflix series. However, he was absent from the gathering that was attended by his co-stars, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard and more.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection states that, “Any foreign national may be inadmissible due to the commission to a crime involving drug possession. A violation, conspiracy to violate or simply an attempt to violate any U.S. state federal or any foreign government controlled substance violation renders a foreign national inadmissible to the United States.”

As of late, it is still unclear how long Heaton will not be allowed entry into the country and how this will affect his role as Jonathan in “Stranger Things.” Earlier this year, Heaton opened up about the success of the series and admitted that he didn’t expect it to be such a huge hit.

“Definitely overwhelmed – still overwhelmed. Every day it keeps growing. Its fan base keeps growing. I just remember reading the pilot and being like, ‘Alright!’ You know when you pick up scripts, some are good and some are great, and this really felt great. It felt like I was reading a classic script. Everyone worked so hard for it to be received like this, so it’s amazing. I keep pinching myself,” he told Paper Mag.

Heaton was also very delighted to know that he will be working closely with Rider. The two actors play mother and son in the series. “She’s amazing, but she’s also very down to earth, very supportive of whoever she’s working with. It’s kind of cool. I mean, it’s super cool,” he gushed.
