Jared Leto -- who plays the Joker in the forthcoming film "Suicide Squad" -- recently stepped out on the streets of New York City, showing off his neon green hair. The actor looked dashing in his new hairdo. Leto coupled his look with a white vest and matching trousers. He also carried a fanny pack around his waist and sported tattoos on his arm and chest.

The 42-year-old actor also showed off his sculpted biceps. He is said to be bulking up for his much-anticipated role in David Ayer’s film. According to E! Online, Leto made his way to the city to run some errands. The actor has been busy shooting for “Suicide Squad.” He was recently seen shooting a scene with Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in the film. In the scene, he could be seen in the costume of the Joker. He had his face painted white and wore a fitted coat and trousers. He also sported dark red lips and was seen kissing Harley before pushing her to the floor.

Leto is reportedly excited to play the Joker on screen. He has been preparing for the character for a long time and considers it a challenge to play the supervillain. He revealed to Billboard magazine that he is thrilled to take on the character, whom he termed “Shakespearean.” Moreover, unlike late actor Heath Ledger’s Joker in 2008's “The Dark Knight,” Leto’s rendition of the Joker will sport tattoos.

“Suicide Squad” is scheduled to be released Aug 5, 2016. The film also stars Will Smith as Deadshot.
