Tom Hardy was reportedly considered to play Rick Flagg in director David Ayer’s forthcoming film “Suicide Squad.” However, the actor dropped out due to his busy schedule. The actor recently spoke about his decision and revealed that he knows plot points of the film.

“Warner Brothers is my home studio and I love them so I was really bummed out and I wanted to work on that and I know the script is really [good]. And I also know what’s gonna happen with the Joker and Harley Quinn in that, which I won’t give away too much," he said, as Collider reported.

Hardy also had praise for Will Smith and Jared Leto, who play Deadshot and the Joker, respectively. Hardy is now being seen in “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

He dropped out of “Suicide Squad” because he was tied up with shooting “The Revenant.” He explained that director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu "overshot by three months, so I’ve got to go back out to Patagonia or Alaska to continue shooting,” he said.

"The Revenant" is a thriller in which Hardy plays John Fitzgerald. The film also stars Leonardo Di Caprio as Hugh Glass. It is scheduled to be released in December.

Meanwhile, “Suicide Squad” is being shot in Canada. Set photos were revealed recently by Just Jared showing Smith and Margot Robbie in a scene. “Suicide Squad” will see supervillains joining forces to execute a dangerous task for a secret government agency -- in exchange for shorter prison sentences.
