In last week’s episode of “Suits,” Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) bought a house in the Hamptons so he could spend more time with architect Tara Messer (Carly Pope). While some fans think that Louis’ decision to purchase an expensive property just to get closer to the woman he is interested in is ridiculous, Hoffman said that it isn’t that crazy compared to other outrageous things that his character has done in the past.

“I'm not sure what's more crazy — mudding around the world because you have a broken heart, or buying a house to spend months and months of time with a woman that you want to have fall in love with you," the 46-year-old actor told Access Hollywood. "Look, there's that [notion] love makes you crazy, so, I mean, would I ever do it? No. Would Louis do it? Absolutely.”

To further prove his point, Hoffman reminded cynic fans in a separate interview with Forbes that Louis once went to court against Nigel Nesbitt (Adam Godley) over a cat named Mikado.

“Louis literally has a trial over his cats,” he said. “Viewers are skeptical of the fact that Louis is doing something like buying a house to impress a woman he loves? If anything, I find it to be kind of a mild ‘Louisism.’ Nothing out of the ordinary as far as I’m concerned.”

Hoffman revealed that that Louis and Tara had scenes in tonight’s episode that allowed viewers to know more about Pope’s character.

“It won't take long until we find out that Tara isn't perfect and it won't take long until those imperfections only make Louis fall more for Tara," Hoffman said.

The way Tara sees Louis, on the other hand, might still change as the season continues, because “a lot of the Louis that we know as an audience is kept at bay with Tara, for better or worse,” Pope told TVLine. “She doesn't see the Littisms that everybody else sees.”

“Suits” airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on USA Network.
