Laura Benanti and her husband Patrick Brown will be welcoming their first child this winter, but while the pregnant “Supergirl” actress is currently doing well, she recently admitted that the first trimester of her pregnancy had been difficult.

In an interview with People, Benanti — who suffered a miscarriage almost a year ago — revealed that she was afraid that she might have another miscarriage.

“I was so worried and also really scared during the first trimester,” she told the news outlet. “I was really scared, all the time.”

Her worries were also accompanied by a severe case of morning sickness, which made the first trimester of her pregnancy much worse.

“I don’t know what man named it morning sickness,” she quipped. “It’s the most ridiculous term I have ever heard. It should be called just ’24/7, Never Get a Break’ sickness.”

“It was really rough,” she continued. “I was throwing up multiple times a day, and really dehydrated. I was barely functioning as a human.”

During that time, Benanti was working on several projects at the same time. She was leading the Broadway revival of “She Loves Me” and was also making headlines with her Melania Trump impression on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

But because she doesn’t want to suffer another miscarriage, Benanti — who penned an op-ed about her miscarriage in The Huffington Post last year — followed her doctor’s order to rest.

“When my doctor was like, ‘This is nuts — you need to take care of yourself,’ I wasn’t like, ‘Well, the show must go on!’ ” she recalled. “I was like, ‘No, I’m a human being, and I had a miscarriage and I don’t want another one.’ So I really made my pregnancy a priority.”

“Everything’s great and looks healthy [now],” said Benanti of her pregnancy. “I’m really grateful for where we are now. But still — still in the back of my mind, I’m like, ‘Oh gosh, please let everything be okay.’”

Benanti announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post earlier this month. “Patrick and I doing some light summer reading. Coming this winter...#BabyGirlBrown!!!” she captioned a photo of the couple reading Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel’s pregnancy guide “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”
