“Supergirl” fans don’t have to wait until next week’s episode of the CW series to find out what Project Medusa is, as series star Brenda Strong has already revealed what it’s all about in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“Medusa plays very strongly in the next episode, which is episode 208, and it’s basically a virus,” said Strong, who plays Lillian Luthor on the show. “It’s one of those exclusive viruses that doesn’t [sic] touch anyone whose organic material is human. It only attacks anything that is alien, and it’s a big one. So, that poses imminent threat to the planet.”

According to the synopsis for the episode, CADMUS gets ahold of the virus, so Kara seeks help from Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), hoping that she can stop her foster mom from unleashing the virus that can instantly kill any alien in close proximity.

Strong said that Lena isn’t aware about Lillian’s involvement with CADMUS, but that’s about to change in the upcoming episode.

“At this point, she doesn’t know anything at all,” Strong said when asked whether Lena knows that Lillian is the one in charge at CADMUS. “But come ‘Medusa,’ she’s going to start finding out more about her mother’s nefarious mission and that will have an impact on their relationship.”

While Strong said that Lena and Lillian aren’t on the same page when it comes to aliens, Melissa Benoist previously told Nerdist that she doesn’t think Kara is ever going to be able to truly know if Lena is being honest. Despite that, the actress said she thinks that “there’s a true friendship” between Kara and Lena and that they have “mutual respect” for each other.

“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 8, titled “Medusa,” airs on Monday, Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
