J’onn J’onnz (David Harewood) will be facing off against a new White Martian in Season 3 of “Supergirl.”

According to TVLine, J’onn, aka Martian Manhunter, is going to be busy at the start of the new season when an aggressive White Martian named Da’rack comes to Earth to accomplish a particularly delicate mission.

As fans know, Da’rack won’t be the first White Martian to appear on the show. The first White Martian who appeared on the CW series was the unnamed White Martian who disguised as Miranda Crane (Tawny Cypress) in Season 1, episode 11, titled “Strange Visitor from Another Planet.” Viewers were then introduced to White Martian M’gann M’orzz (Sharon Leal) and to her ex-husband Armek (Terrell Tilford) in Season 2.

Apparently, Da’rack isn’t the only new Martian that fans will meet in Season 3. As announced during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last month, J’onn’s father M’yrnn J’onzz will also appear next season. Described as a pacifist religious leader on his home planet of Mars, M’yrnn will reportedly push his son J’onn in unexpected ways.

M’yrnn will be played by “Alias” alum Carl Lumbly. Lumbly is no stranger to Martian roles, as he was the voice of J’onn on the animated series “Static Shock,” “Justice League” and “Justice League Unlimited.”

While it would be interesting to see a reunion of sorts between J’onn and M’yrnn, Harewood is hoping for a completely different get-together. “I think you’re going to see [J’onn] hopefully with M’gann again, and doing some nice stuff with Sharon Neal as Miss Martian,” the British actor said a recent interview with ComicBook.com. “She was fantastic.”

As to where Season 3 will start, Harewood said that the new season picks up immediately after the events in the Season 2 finale. “Season 3 picks up minutes later, just after Season 2 ended, so [viewers] don’t have this whole enormous leap [they’re] going to have to make,” he said. “I think we’re all about to go on another season’s long crazy journey.”
