A man was arrested yesterday, suspected of involvement in the brutal murder of a Chinese herbalist, his wife and young daughter in another crime that has stunned the tony beach town of Santa Barbara, California.

The Los Angeles Times reported 27-year-old Pierre Haobsh was arrested in the San Diego area Friday. Haobsh had done business with Weidong Henry Han, 59, who was found shot and wrapped in plastic Wednesday morning along with his 29-year-old wife, Huijie “Jenni” Yu, and their 5-year-old daughter, Emily, in their home.

The family was found by law enforcement after associates became suspicious when Han did not show up for a Wednesday meeting in Los Angeles. Han and his wife ran a Chinese herbal medicine clinic and he had written several books.

One of Han’s patients, Ron Rakow, 78, told the L.A. Times that “his life was solving insolvable problems.”
