Take-Two Interactive has told investors the highly anticipated “WWE 2K16” now has an official release date. The wrestling game will be coming out on Oct. 27 and will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, showing that Take-Two and 2K Sports will not be abandoning their last-gen consoles, used for the previous game “WWE 2K15.”

Last year, 2K separated the release dates for the current-gen and last-gen versions of “WWE 2K15.” According to Polygon, the version for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 came out in October, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version followed in November. Most recently, “WWE 2K15” came out for the PC earlier this month and came with all the DLC, minus WWE Diva Paige.

While neither Take-Two nor 2K has revealed any gameplay details, it seems the wrestlers themselves have some leeway to reveal that they are in the game. NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks has confirmed her appearance in the game via Twitter, as has Rosa Mendes, whom many will know from Total Divas on the E! Network.

There was also a rumor that “WWE 2K16” would have the largest roster seen in any game, though Attack of the Fanboy and 2K16 community manager Marcus Stephenson have recently squashed that rumor. Still, it is entirely possible for the roster to get bigger in 2K16, at the least, much bigger than it was for 2K15.

Now that the date has been marked, fans can count down the days before the release of “WWE 2K16.” While there is no official word, wrestling fans can look forward to a possible 2K16 roster reveal around Summer Slam, as the roster of previous games has been revealed around that timeline.
