According to the National Retail Federation, certain mainstays in the technology industry experienced the largest growth among all retailers in 2010.

Amazon.com showed the largest increase in retail sales in the United States over the course of one year, posting a 46.2 percent increase over 2009. Apple (32.3%) showed significant gains, while RadioShack (16.3%), which underwent a rebranding campaign, also did well in 2010.

Some of the lesser-known retailers that top the list include Tractor Supply Co. (13.5%), O'Reilly Automotive (11.4%) and WinCo Foods (9.9%).

Wegman's Food Markets (8.7%) also appeared in the organization's list. Based in Rochester, N.Y., Wegman's has stores primarily in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
