A teenager was arrested on assault charges Tuesday in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, for allegedly attacking a mother who was holding her baby on her lap, according to reports. Video of the attack went viral and was shared 121,000 times and viewed more than six million times by Thursday.

Jeremy McCoy, the father of Janie McCoy, posted the video on Facebook Oct. 18 with the caption: "Hate to post this of my daughter being assaulted by two girls, and nothing has been done yet five days later. So please share."

The teenager accused of the assault was apprehended Tuesday afternoon. She and her mother appeared before a judge. No one else has been arrested, according to reports.

Janie McCoy told CBS-affiliate KSLA Tuesday that a friend invited her over to their home and that’s when six girls approached her and started yelling.

"They said that I said something about somebody wanting to fight somebody that I had no idea what they was talking about," Janie McCoy said. "She said she didn't care if I had my baby in my hands or not. I tried to get away from the situation and as you can see they struck me anyways."

"In that moment, I did not want to fight. I had my son with me and if you know me, then you know that my kid comes first," Janie McCoy added.

She suffered a bruised face and a lip laceration but said her baby was unharmed. She still hasn’t received a report from Broken Bow police.

"My Dad has gone up there three, four, five times in the six days since this has happened and he keeps being told the same thing: No report has been finished," said Janie McCoy.

Meanwhile, an online petition created for Janie McCoy on Monday has since received over 2,000 signatures.

The "McCurtain County Sheriff's Department: Justice for Janie McCoy" page prepared by a Ken McKinney features a screen grab of Janie McCoy's Facebook post accompanied by a comment on the incident.

"Janie was assaulted and mistreated by the girl Saybra Nicole," the page read. "Saybra not only assaulted Janie, but put the life of that innocent child in danger. That went to far and anyone who assaults a mother with a child in their arms deserve punishment at the fullest extent of the law."
