‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Leah Messer Makes A Big Life Change After Ex Jeremy Announces Engagement

From receiving treatment for anxiety and depression to agreeing to take time for herself, Leah Messer has made a lot of changes in recent years and she’s ready to tackle another transition. The “Teen Mom 2” star has revealed she’s planning to quit smoking for the sake of her three daughters.

“So over this bad habbit. It’s not healthy for me or my household. What role model for my daughters would I be to keep smoking?” Leah posted to Instagram Thursday alongside a clip of a pack of cigarettes burning on the ground. “I’m finally saying goodbye to cigarettes!”

Leah, 24, added she was “excited” about the idea of being healthier and MTV viewers praised her in the comments for her decision after years of watching her smoke on the docuseries.

Leah’s announcement comes one week after her ex-husband Jeremy Calvert, and dad to daughter Adalynn, 3, made a big announcement of his own. Jeremy has confirmed he’s planning to walk down the aisle with longtime girlfriend Brooke Wehr.

“Yup I’m engaged to my beautiful amazing soon to be wifey,” he posted to Instagram last week, including a closeup of the mother-of-one’s engagement ring. “I love you baby doll I’m one happy man right now your [sp] my everything.”

Jeremy followed up his post with several compliments for his new bride. “The day I met you my life changed. The way you make me feel is hard to explain,” reads one post. “You make me smile in a special kind of way, you make me fall deeper in love everyday.”

While Jeremy and Brooke prepare for their wedding, and the launch of their new clothing line, Leah is spending her time bettering herself and being with her daughters. “A little walk after working out,” Leah posted Thursday. “Just another gorgeous day!” Leah’s other recent posts include a shot of Adalynn and 6-year-old twins Aleeah and Aliannah, whom she shares with ex-husband Corey Simms, practicing cheerleading as well as various home improvement projects.
