A Wichita Mid-Continent Airport employee was arrested Friday amid allegations that he planned to drive a car bomb into the Kansas airport in a suicide attack.

The suspect, Terry Lee Loewen, 58, of Wichita, Kan., is an avionics technician at Mid-Continent Airport and is expected to face federal charges, Wichita television station KAKE reported.

A news conference on the suicide car bomb plot was planned for 1 p.m. local time.
