Elon Musk’s Tesla pickup has achieved what other vehicles could not: gather such strong interest even if people have not actually seen what the new electric utility vehicle looks like.

The interest in the Tesla pickup, which is unofficially being referred to as the Tesla Model B, is so strong that it overtook pickup giant Ford’s F-150 in terms of popularity in a Twitter survey conducted a few months ago. The survey showed that around 25 states could actually consider buying a Tesla pickup as their future vehicle.

Interest in the utility vehicle spiked when Tesla CEO Elon Musk gave a podcast interview and spoke about the mysterious vehicle. Based on the information, we know that the pickup is going to be really powerful with 300,000 pounds of towing capacity and a battery range that could last up to 500 miles.

The most unique feature of the Tesla pickup is how it would look like. Musk described the vehicle as highly-futuristic and “cyberpunk.” It’s going to look so out of this world that Musk admitted the design might not appeal to everyone and that they might actually come out with a more conventional design.

And since we only have an obscure teaser shown during this year’s Model Y launch, many fans have gone to concept designers to interpret how the pickup would actually look like. There have been a lot of strong favorites like concepts from artists like The Sketch Monkey, who created a design by following the Tesla pickup teaser released during the Model Y launch.

Another is a rendering created by Justin Duel James (Duelj) who was able to come up with a beautiful Tesla pickup design by incorporating the teaser image as part of the truck. Putting the teaser portion as part of the front of the pickup, James also incorporated a feature called “suicide doors.”

Now a new report shows that the interest in the Tesla pickup is strong especially among Facebook groups and that the social media portal offers a lot of other exciting versions of the Tesla pickup.

According to the report, the versions found on Facebook dates back to around three years ago which means people have been anticipating a Tesla pickup for a long time now. The earlier versions show some simple renditions such as Model X-based designs that are closer to the streamlined designs of other Tesla vehicles. One of these designs is the one from Swapalease created three years ago that shows a boxy and more conventional pickup design.

The newer concepts are more in tune with Musk’s vision of a cyberpunk truck. Among the concept designs that have been released in recent months, it seems that Emre Husmen’s original render remains to be a favorite among Facebook car groups. The design’s high stance and large, off-road tires fit perfectly with Musk’s cyberpunk vision and have been shared by FB pages like RoyalQueen, Bayon Moto and Tesla Fanclub Europe, among others.

As for what the pickup would actually look like, we might not have to wait long. Musk shared that the pickup will be released in the next two to three months, so we can finally get a glimpse of the elusive vehicle before the year ends.
