Tiger Woods hasn’t been ranked No. 1 in the world since October 2010. But that streak could end Sunday afternoon.

The 37-year-old put together a dominating 6-under 66 in Saturday’s third round, and now holds a two-stroke lead heading into the final round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Bill.

Woods was six strokes back of Justin Rose before stringing together five birdies, and an eagle on the par-5 16th hole Saturday, and is now in line to not only snag the top ranking from Rory McIlroy, but also capture his eighth-career Arnold Palmer title.

Sitting just behind Woods in a three-way tie for second, Americans Rickie Fowler and John Huh, along with England’s Justin Rose, each posted a 9-under 207 through three.

Rose held a comfortable six stroke lead over Woods, but that quickly evaporated thanks to four bogeys on the back nine, and another on the seventh hole.

McIlroy is not in this year’s field, as he’s preparing for next month’s Masters. At that time he may challenge Woods for the grand title.

Woods has recorded at least one eagle in each round, including two on the 16th, and will tee-off at 1:40 p.m., and so will Fowler.

Huh and Rose begin their final round at 1:30 p.m.
