Tina Fey said her “worst nightmare” came true after photos of the comedienne in a swimsuit, a one-piece to be exact, while with her children surfaced this week.

Fey, 42, was on holiday with her daughters and husband, Jeff Richmond, at Walt Disney World last week when she was photographed wearing her bathing suit. Fey was playing in the water with 7-year-old Alica and 19-month-old Penelope, wearing a retro-style blue polka dot tankini with shorts.

But according to Fey, being photographed in her swimsuit is her “worst nightmare.”

"My nightmare came true and I was photographed in my bathing suit in Florida," Fey told USA Today. "Thankfully, I was mostly submerged. It was at Disney World. I felt like it had to be another guest."

But Fey said she understands the price to pay as a celebrity, especially while vacationing in a popular destination.

"You just have to take it at face value," she said. "You can't believe either side of it, but believe me, I'd rather have it going OK. It's arbitrary."

While many have criticized Fey for wearing a “mom” bathing suit, others have applauded the comedienne, like CafeMom.com. “We owe her a round of applause and a standing ovation,” Mary Fischer for The Stir wrote. “Because if someone as cool as Tina Fey can wear a mom suit with pride -- the rest of us can too.”

Tina Fey famously released a swimsuit calendar in 2011 to benefit autism, with her face photoshopped onto models' bodies. She released it during Comedy Central's “Night of Too Many Stars” in October 2010.
